Plan International Ghana in collaboration with the German National Office (GNO) is implementing a 3 years Integrated Package for Sustainable Development (I-PADEV) Project in two districts in Ghana. The I-PADEV project seeks to contribute to creating a resilient and protective environment both at home and at school for better health and learning outcomes for children, especially girls, through equitable access to and effective utilization of WASH, Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD), education, health facilities, and services. The project will be working in a total of 20 communities from the two districts of Northern PIIA and Southern PIIA, with a total of 18,668 (population) community members comprising 9,453 women/girls and 9,215 boys/men who will benefit directly from the project.
The purpose of the study is to collect and analyze data on the current status of the beneficiary communities relating to gender inequalities and inequities, water, sanitation, and hygiene situation amongst the population and establish benchmark baselines on key project indicators, which will enable the level of success of the project to be measured at the end of the project. The baseline survey results will later be used to evaluate the extent to which the project will meet the desired impact post-project implementation compared to project end-line results.

Climate change is the defining issue of our time, and we are at a defining moment. From shifting weather patterns that threaten food production, to rising sea levels that increase the risk of catastrophic flooding, the impacts of climate change are global in scope and unprecedented in scale. Without drastic action today, adapting to these impacts in the future will be more difficult and costly. Often many of those worst impacted by the climate crisis are from marginalized communities or poorer countries, who might have fewer opportunities to communicate their experiences to those who can make the most difference: their leaders. Between 2010 to 2020, deaths from floods, droughts, and storms were 15 times higher in highly vulnerable regions, compared to other parts of the world. By running a truly global poll with a high representation of vulnerable regions, we can ask people how climate change is making them feel, how it’s impacting their lives, and what actions they want their leaders to take to address it.
