RTI International has commissioned Researchlime Limited to conduct primary research on the current and future landscape of sanitation in Ghana and potential for the omni-processor. Specifically, the survey is being conducted in Kumasi and Takoradi. The omni-processor is a waste-to-resource system that takes in fecal sludge and produces clean water, ash, and electricity, eliminating pathogens in the process. The survey was conducted in two major cities in Ghana: Kumasi and Sekondi-Takoradi. It drew on primary data from stakeholder interviews and secondary data from published reports, journal articles and policy documents.
